Oscillator Experiment

Course Description: EGR 244 (Dynamics)

Project Length: 5 weeks

Project Description:

This project was the second major project for the EGR 244 course. The goal of the project was to analyze how different components added to a pendulum affect the oscillation/period of its swing. Four different scenarios were analyzed: pendulum with no spring and no shaker response, pendulum with spring but no shaker response, and pendulum with spring and shaker response.

Skills Obtained/Used:

  • Python

  • Lagrange's Method

  • Steady-State Response

  • Executing Analytical Solutions (Homogenous and Heterogenous)

  • In-Depth Analysis of Experimental Data

  • Comparison of Experimental vs. Theoretical Models

Experimental Results

After completing this project, I learned a lot of important lessons. .... Our subteam ran into a few challenges along the team. One of them was that we struggled to maintain a steady form of communication considering that we were all on different schedules. Additionally, we experienced a problem . However, I overcame these issues . Overall, this was a succesful project and I gained more knowledge about

Key Takeaways/Evaluations:

After completing this project, I learned a lot about what affects. Prior to this experiment and based on what I previously knew about pendulums, I  Our subteam ran into a few challenges along the team. One of them was that we struggled to maintain a steady form of communication considering that we were all on different schedules. Additionally, we experienced a problem . However, I overcame these issues . Overall, this was a successful project and I gained more knowledge about
