Current Position: Chapter President
National Society of Black Engineers serves as an organization "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community." As next year's upcoming president of the Duke chapter, I will lead a executive board of 10 officers in fulfilling NSBE's mission. As the previous finance chair, I took charge of communicating with companies interested in sponsoring our chapter. I also tracked funding to help students attend the NSBE regional and national conferences that has access to a plethora of networking opportunities. Duke Electric Vehicles
Current Position: Powertrain Lead of Mechanical Team
Duke Electric Vehicles, or DEV, serves as one of Duke's main engineering organizations that combines aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering for the purpose of constructing a one-person vehicle that is the most energy efficient. Responsibilities as a mechanical team member ranged from laser cutting wheel covers to using a water jet cutter to manufacture a precise, sleek parts.
