Role: Junior Engineer

Role Length: 9 weeks

Role Description:

My role as a junior engineer lasted for 9 weeks and my assignments included working with Dr. Delegrammatikas, Assistant Head Director of the Duke Mechanical Engineering Department, and Evan Kusa, Head Lab Manager of the Garage Lab and Fabrication Lab and Senior R&D Engineer. 

Skills Obtained/Used:

  • Circuit Building

  • C++ Coding for Arduino

  • 3D Printing

  • Soldering

  • 3-Axis CNC Maching

  • Virtual Machines (Linux, Raspberry Pi 4)

Challenges Students Faced:

After completing this project, I learned a lot of important lessons. .... Our subteam ran into a few challenges along the team. One of them was that we struggled to maintain a steady form of communication considering that we were all on different schedules. Additionally, we experienced a problem . However, I overcame these issues . Overall, this was a succesful project and I gained more knowledge about
